ISO 9001 & Quality Assurance
Leading the rollout of the ISO 9001 quality standard across Algerian universities
Pr. Omar Haroun is Deputy Director for Evaluation and Quality Assurance at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and a member of that ministry's National Quality System Commission. He has completed numerous specialized training programmes in ISO quality management systems, and currently leads projects on quality assurance in higher education and the rollout of the ISO 9001 standard across Algerian universities.
As part of this work, he has taken part in on-site inspection visits to dozens of university institutions that completed ISO 9001 training, and has appeared in several television programmes and press interviews on the stakes of quality and innovation at Algerian universities — a journey widely covered by Algerian television and the pages of numerous national universities.
